About Us

Kerry Lyons Couch has been riding since age 10. She trained with:

Cara Nightengale – Western pleasure/Equitation, Gymkhana, Halter, Showmanship & Trail.

· John Kosky- English pleasure/Equitation, Jumping & Working Groom.

· Rob Huffman – Ground work, Manners & Working Groom.

· Miley Bennett – Western Pleasure/Equitation, Saddle Seat, Jumping, Trail, Gymkhana, Halter & Showmanship.

· Tabby Dawes - Jumping

Since then Kerry has been furthering her education at home as well as through clinics and seminars.

Kerry has been riding competitively since age 11.

She rode in Open, Breed & 4-h shows.

She was often asked to ride other people’s horses in shows.

Kerry has worked with and ridden various breeds:

Arabians

Quarter Horses

Warmbloods

Thoroughbreds

Friesians

PasoFinos

Pony (several breeds)

Missouri Fox Trotter's.

Kerry has used her knowledge to train many horses that went on to be great horses for their owner either for show or pleasure riding

Company history

Couch Horse Ranch, was started on a hope and a dream. We have always had the dream of running our own horse ranch and training not only riders but horses too. Together we moved from California to Arkansas in 2007 and the dream became real. We started with a hand painted sign hanging on a corner post that simply said “Riding Lessons”.

Now we are in the growing stage. We would like to thank everyone who has helped to make Couch Horse Ranch possible, and the continued help and support of our family and friends we hope to make our dream come true.
